Cost Accounting Manager - Falmouth / Hybrid - Up to £62,000
If you’re a motivated accountant who feels disillusioned by the limited number of employers in Cornwall that can offer genuine gold-standard career advancement, we’re going to make you smile.
Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have formed an exclusive recruitment partnership with a manufacturing business that is very commonly regarded as the county’s most sought-after employer. A large, modern, globally trading business that puts their employees at the forefront of everything they do. A business with unrivalled employee retention and an average staff tenure that leaves other employers wondering exactly how they do it. A business that is helmed by one of the most talented management teams in the region, both in and out of finance, and in 2021 achieved an impressive 40% growth in sales.
Their finance-number-one (also introduced by Trial Balance Consulting), is a highly knowledgeable, energetic, and hugely approachable individual with big plans for the future of the company’s large accounting function. The structure of the function is changing and they now seek to welcome no less than three new colleagues to their team. Nobody has left the business or the department; they’re all brand new roles that have been created off the back of internal promotions and to facilitate continued growth.
We’ve been tasked with sourcing a Cost Accountant Manager to join their senior finance team, a pivotal role within the business that works very closely alongside an experienced Senior Finance Partner as well as a long-standing finance & general management team. The successful candidate will take lead responsibility in managing costing structures of engineering products from two factories, reporting on variances and providing commentary and insight on engineering output processes, actual performance, and identifying future risks & rewards. Key responsibilities include:
1. Financial controls and cost of sales margin analysis
2. Balance sheet reconciliations
3. Acting as finance partner on engineering change orders
4. Provide insightful dialogue on all manufacturing activities
5. R&D tax implications
This post marks an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cost Accountant to join a very experienced, friendly, and professional finance team. We’re seeking an experienced part or fully qualified individual (CIMA/ACA/ACCA), ideally with at least 2-3 years of recently gained experience in a manufacturing environment. A good understanding of project castings, variances, analysis, and the communication skills to report feedback to a senior management team is essential. You’ll need high-level IT and time management skills, as well as superb interpersonal skills.
What’s in it for the successful candidate?
1. Hybrid working with up to 3 days per week home based if required
2. High quality, modern offices
3. A highly regarded brand
4. 27 days holiday + public
5. Up to 10% employer's pension contribution
6. A highly supported career with a global business and infinite opportunity to develop in Cornwall or beyond
