A look into the role…
Working on Store Formats, the Retail Development Manager is responsible for helping to shape and deliver projects that influence the in-store customer proposition. Using data and an insight-led approach to engage with stakeholders, you will support the development of proposition and format briefs which include a clearly articulated scope, set of objectives and approach.
This role will be very well suited to a candidate with highly developed negotiation and analytical skills from the retail sector.
Working as Retail Development Manager you will:
* Develop future focused Store formats.
* Undertake key strategic and big bet customer proposition projects and manage to include:
-Idea discovery
-Build Business case for proposal
-Execution development
-Testing and validation
-Launch
-Post launch review
* Development of the Macro Layout Principles alongside Retail Space Planning team, identifying emerging trends and future opportunities to develop categories.
* Review the impact of completed innovation projects and how they have delivered on improving sales, profitability and/ or efficiency.
* Support Retail Space Planners to develop store format the optimum bay count layouts across ambient, frozen and fresh, analysing category performance (sales/ profit & efficiency) on a quarterly basis.
* Assist on a macro planning approach to support trials/pilots on range extensions.
* Use internal analytics, customer & market insight to support engagements and inform proposition development
* Build strong working relationships with complex stakeholder groups both internal and external to help shape project scope and objectives.
* Communicate progress and results of proposition briefs to senior management in a clear and engaging way.
Skills for Success
Joining us as Retail Development Manager, the minimum criteria you’ll need is:
* Good standard of education/ minimum 5 GCSEs including Maths & English (or equivalent)
* Three years’ experience in the retail sector from either a Store management/ Area. Management/ Business development, Store Design or Category Management discipline.
* Proven Analytical problem-solving skills.
* Good awareness of NI retail market.
* Ability to present and interpret reports and data with more senior stakeholders.
* Retail background with a strong customer focused approach.
* Current UK/EU Driving license.

It is desirable if you have:
* Third Level Qualification.
* Category Management knowledge.
* Experience in turning Consumer Insights into clear actions and plans.
* Analytical experience providing strong data-based analysis.

This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am-3:45pm Friday. Hybrid and flexible working arrangement available.
