QHSE Manager Role Overview
Acorn Engineering Limited is an established and recognised leader within the M&E and Facilities Management sector. Via our standards and reputation within this industry we have successfully attained a solid foundation of varied blue-chip clients both commercial and public. The QHSE Manager would be working to manage the ISO standards for the business which requires someone organised and confident. The aim of the QHSE Manager is to ensure the efficient and satisfactory functionality of the ISO standards of Acorn Engineering Limited to guarantee smooth running of the business.
QHSE Manager Responsibilities
1. Management of ISO standards (H&S, Energy, Environmental and Quality)
2. Internal audits – provide training, guidance and preparation for audits
3. External audits – provide training, guidance and preparation for audits
4. Spot check audits
5. QSHE Meetings – internal to review progress
6. Communications to the team
7. Context Workshops Meetings (SWOT Analysis)
8. Manage review and update the Document Control Register
9. Legal Compliance Reviews and maintain Legal Registers
10. Aspects and Impacts Register in line with Legal Compliance Registers
11. Waste Stream guidance
12. Co-ordinate Management Review Meetings
13. Non-Conformance Log
14. Objectives and targets
15. Policy statements
16. Process Maps
17. QSHE Team Responsibilities
18. Prepare and report ISO Progress to SMT Quarterly
19. Liaising with external H&S consultants
20. Documentation
21. Risk Assessments – maintain master templates
22. Method Statements – maintain master templates
23. COSHH register: Manage review and update the COSHH registers
24. Champion ESG policies within the company and act as the point of contact for ESG strategy
25. Toolbox Talks – issue TBTs monthly and maintain tracker and records
26. Policies and procedures
27. Accidents and Incidents
28. Accident and Incident records and escalate investigations to relevant qualified personnel
29. Near Miss records
30. Sub-Contractor Procurement
31. Sub-Contractor Assessments tracker and requesting supporting documentation when required
32. TSSS Meetings (agenda, meeting, actions recorded and closed promptly)
33. Tracking of H&S items throughout the company
34. Overseeing training
35. Quality assurance
36. Energy tracking
QHSE Manager Requirements & Skills

12. Ability to work effectively in a team environment
13. Attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety
14. Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
Accreditations
1. Annual renewal of accreditations
2. Tracking of accreditation items
3. Obtaining new accreditations
Qualifications
1. A relevant qualification in Quality, Health & Safety, or Environmental Management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO Lead Auditor)
2. Proven experience in a QHSE management role within an engineering or manufacturing setting
3. Strong knowledge of ISO management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
