Applications are invited for a Consultant Cardiothoracic Radiologist at Royal Papworth Hospital with prime responsibility in cross sectional imaging reporting within cardiothoracic or thoracic imaging.

Main duties of the job
* Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in imaging to support the management of cardiothoracic patients.
* Share with colleagues the responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Cardiothoracic Radiology Service and the running of relevant MDTs.
* Teaching and training of junior staff, Medical Students and Radiographers.
* Actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning clinical governance and audit.
* Responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME).

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Entry on GMC Specialist Register; eligible for entry on Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of training (CCT) in Radiology at time of interview.
* Success in Intercollegiate Specialty Examination or equivalent.
* FRCR or equivalent.
* Qualification in another specialty (eg MRCP).
* Higher Degree (eg MSc, MD, PhD).
Experience
* Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients, including an ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems in cardiothoracic imaging.
* Ability to conduct sub-specialty MDTs.
* Undertake cardiothoracic imaging on-call cover in a specialist cardiothoracic unit.
* Ability to liaise with other hospitals and imaging departments within the region and beyond.
* Expertise in CT guided and pericardial thoracic interventions.
* Nuclear cardiology and lung oncology reporting including MIBI and Lung oncology PET.
