We are looking for a Business Case Assurance Specialist to join our Business Assurance team at AWE Nuclear Security Technologies. Package: Band starts at £35,380, we will negotiate upwards dependant on experience Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. Introducing the Role: This is primarily an administration role which will provide access to the wider project governance area, exposure to a portfolio of work at AWE. You will meet and build relationships with senior stakeholders across both AWE and MOD. You’ll be privy to key information and be seen as a trusted advisor. Key Responsibilities: Administer and, where required, help deliver a training and Learning from Experience (LFE) programme for all AWE staff and stakeholders involved in the production assurance and governance of business cases. Help support the provision of advice and guidance to the business for the drafting of Integrated Approvals and Assurance Plans (IAAP) and administer the configuration control and audit. This is how a day could look: Nurturing and managing the business case assurance process, ensuring it is held appropriately. Overseeing and documenting the business case assurance pipeline, providing advice and guidance to stakeholders on the assurance process. Maintaining and administering the self-assessment checklist for the business case assurance process, supporting both internal and external audit activities. Managing and administering business case assurance reporting tools by producing metrics to assist line managers with decision-making, particularly using Excel Dashboards and Pivots. Administering the status and completion of actions, requirements, or conditions from formal approval boards, Information Notes, Review Notes, and ensuring lessons learned are documented appropriately and producing minutes. Overseeing and managing the business case pipeline, utilizing effective communications across the business and key functions to ensure pipelines are accurately maintained. Acting as Information Asset Coordinator for the Business Case Assurance Team (BCAT), ensuring records conform to Company policy and procedures. Maintaining the BCAT Intranet page and all BCAT internal SharePoint pages, ensuring the documents are up to date with current information. We would like you to demonstrate some of the following skills and experience: Project and programme management background APM or Prince 2 (or working towards) Understanding of business cases (government business case methodology would be helpful) Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities: Capable of analysing situations and making informed decisions. Understanding of risk analysis: Proficient in identifying and evaluating potential risks. Need to love and work proficiently with Excel and Sharepoint Effective time management: Skilled in managing priorities and working within challenging timescales. Professional aspirations: Desire to pursue membership in a professional body.
