This position is part of the Engineering team, based in Cramlington Global Centre for Hose Manufacturing. WHAT TO EXPECT Working full-time from our Cramlington facility, the materials engineer will conduct research, specify, and select materials and/or technologies to facilitate the application of specific materials, supporting hose designs, optimizing production processes, and enhancing production efficiency. Key responsibilities: Assess and, if necessary, revise or develop materials for current hose designs and/or assemblies. Manage and maintain Material Data Sheets within the relevant system, ensuring they are up to date. Manage goods in approval and shelf-life extension program for raw materials Support post failure analysis activity. Support procurement and operations teams on sourcing and processing of raw material. Work closely with material lab technicians on active research and engineering projects. ABOUT YOU Required Experience: Bachelor's degree in materials science/engineering, chemical engineering, or process engineering/science. A minimum three years of experience in either research and development or manufacturing within a related product line Required Skills: Innovative thinking and proficient problem-solving skills Production or commercialization experience preferred.
