This role is based in Surrey and will require travel to Surrey frequently. One You Surrey is a healthy lifestyle service that delivers free stop smoking support to people in Surrey. We're looking for someone to join our team as a Stop Smoking Advisor working in our community-based Stop Smoking clinics across the county.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
This role is based in Surrey and will require travel to Surrey frequently.
A typical day as a Stop Smoking Advisor might include:
* Delivering evidence-based interventions that focus on smoking cessation, behaviour change, and psychological support to save lives by helping smokers to quit for good
* Attending face-to-face stop smoking clinics and working with clients on a one-to-one basis in person to support them with their quit attempt. • Working with partner organisations and colleagues in Primary Care to help improve patient uptake and meet targets
* Ensuring an excellent and safe experience for clients using our policies and procedures
* Working with colleagues across all of our Thrive Tribe services to contribute to new projects and service developments - we’re always looking to share knowledge and resources
* Ensuring due consideration if given to Information Governance and Clinical Governance legislation, requirements and guidance
* Helping us maintain the ethos of Thrive Tribe by driving our organisational culture forward across our services and using every opportunity to embed our values
We’re looking for someone who can combine health improvement knowledge with first class communication and motivational skills. If you have experience of working alongside people to promote healthy lifestyles, and a real understanding of the impact personal characteristics and circumstances can have on health behaviours then we want to hear from you. Similarly, if you have a lived experience of becoming smokefree and/or have a good understanding of the local communities we wish to support, that would be hugely advantageous too.
However, we hire based on attitude over traditional skills and experience so if you feel you are right for the job we would love to hear from you!

Other requirements
This role is based across Surrey. The role will involve face-to-face clinic delivery across GP and community settings and will require travelling between clinics (car owner required). When not delivering clinics there will be some home-based working. Preference for applicants from the 21 Health and Wellbeing Neighbourhoods in Surrey or ex-smokers.
