Regional HR Business Partner- South West
Roadchef Motorway Services has an amazing opportunity for a HR Business Partner for the South West Region. Working within the HR Team this role reports to the HR Director and is accountable for the provision of all generalist HR activity within the South West region. This role is field based and will cover Tibshelf M1, Strensham, Sedgemoor and Taunton on the M5, Magor and Pont M4. As a HRBP you will partner the Area Director and work closely with Site Directors on a day to day basis to ensure excellent HR delivery for the sites within the region. Due to the geographical locations of our sites this position is field based with access to a central HR Office in our Support Office at Norton Canes on the M6 Toll road.
Our ideal candidate must live in the South West region, have experience working in a multi site, fast paced environment with a vast knowledge of Employee relations.
Salary is £55,000 to £60,000 depending on your experience and comes with a fully expensed company car and many other benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular HR review meetings with Area Director and Site Directors to ensure key HR management information is utilised to identify issues, patterns and trends and develop appropriate plans to support
* Contribute to the overall HR strategy to ensure it is fit for purpose for business
* Lead local meetings to ensure there is a strong relationship between the management teams and employees
* Provide advice and support to Line Managers on all Employee Relations issues within the area
* Ensure legal compliance and best practice approach to Employment Law through the utilisation of outsourced specialist service of Employment Lawyers with accurate record keeping and data protection regulations are met in all cases
* Manage any Employment Tribunal claims in partnership with Employment Lawyers ensuring robust bundles are produced
* Manage settlement agreements where appropriate working closely with legal advisers and the Director of HR and Development
* Attend all formal hearings where required and advise Line Managers on correct processes
* Complete risk assessments for cases to ensure best practice and consistency
* Maintain an up to date working knowledge of employment law and best practice through external networking
* Educate managers on relevant employment legislation or policy to ensure compliance
* Work with the business and Talent and Resourcing team to ensure that training needs are identified and met within the area including HR specific training
* Provide guidance to managers to address team and individual performance, learning and development needs
* Work with the processes defined by the Recruitment team to ensure sites are managing recruitment activity effectively. Monitor the recruitment forecasting process on a regular basis to ensure the business has clear sight of succession gaps and risks
* Support area and site recruitment activity where appropriate to ensure correct procedures are followed and cost effective and consistent structures are in place
* Ensure compliance to induction plans and conduct assessments following company process
* Support new initiatives, delivering a robust plan to the Area to ensure success and rollout
* Support appropriate ad hoc requests in a timely manner delivering 100% customer support
Skills/ Experience
Our HR Business Partner will be a strong team player who builds effective working relationships with a broad spectrum of individuals and teams.
* A professionally qualified HR professional with experience of dealing with complex Employee Relations cases including dismissal, Employment Tribunals, Collective grievances and employee consultative groups
* Possess excellent influencing and communication skills
* Manage change and play a pivotal role in the way that HR is perceived within the business
* Experience working in multi site operations within catering, hospitality or retail sectors in fast paced environment
* Possess strong organisation and planning skills to ensure time is used most effectively
* Ability to manage and build credibility with a diverse range of key stakeholders
* Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence others at all levels
* CIPD qualified
