The Role:
A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for apprentice operators to join our teams at our North Tees, Seal Sands in Teesside, and Windmill in Barry terminals. The successful candidates will be enrolled in the 30-month Bulk Storage Terminal Technician (BSTT) Apprenticeship programme.
The Bulk Storage Terminal Technician Apprenticeship Program has been designed to develop a wide expertise across operational and technical areas of the business. Your site-based training program is supported by a nationally recognised apprenticeship standard (Level 3 Diploma Qualification for a Bulk Storage Terminal Technician). We support the apprentice standard with all the relevant technical certificates to enable our apprentices to develop their skills in all aspects of Terminal Operations. You will not only gain valuable skills and knowledge around Terminal Operations, but you will also learn all aspects of working within an Upper Tier COMAH Bulk Liquid Operational Site.
In the area of Process Safety, you will gain valuable insights into all aspects of Process Safety study techniques, COMAH requirements, Human Factors, and Functional Safety. We provide a positive environment together with a strong safety and team-working culture. The programme is delivered by industry experts and apprenticeship providers Reynolds Training Services.
The first year will be based at the Terminals and HCF Catch Training Facility in Immingham, with the requirement to attend the HCF Catch Training Facility over a number of 4-week residential blocks.
The second year will primarily be spent at the Terminals under a mentorship programme, with allocated weeks each month back at the Catch Training Facility in Immingham.
Our Bulk Liquid Terminal Technician Apprenticeship Program will ensure well-rounded exposure to all areas of Terminal Operations, and we will provide you with the opportunity to make a genuine impact within the company. * Safe operation of the storage plant and equipment.
* Routine operation of pumping and transfer systems.
* Road loading and discharging operations.
* Jetty and shipping operations.
* Rigging of transfer hoses.
* Marine Arm operations.

* Operation of a range of machinery and pumps used in bulk storage operations.

The Candidate:
We are looking for candidates who are hardworking, reliable, trustworthy, and keen to learn and develop themselves within the Bulk Liquid Storage Industry. You need to be able to demonstrate good communication and problem-solving skills and that you are able to work as part of a diverse team.
Qualifications:
* Minimum qualifications of Grade C/Grade 5 in Maths, English, Science, or a college equivalent.
Remuneration:
The starting salary is apprentice national minimum wage rising to NMW in year 2 of the apprenticeship. The hours are 08:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday.
Progression:
While this vacancy is for an Apprentice Terminal Operator at our sites, we offer opportunities for individuals to develop their careers across other aspects of the Navigator Terminals business (Operations Management, Safety Management, Control room operators, Shift Supervisors, Control of Works, Engineering, etc.). At the end of the apprenticeship program, a review of available permanent positions will take place.
