We have an exciting development opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Nurse/ Social worker/Occupational Therapist on a permanent post to join our established Early Memory Diagnosis and Support Service as Deputy Community Manager. You will be part of the countywide Early Memory Diagnosis and Support Service, delivering leadership support to the innovative new model of community service to deliver memory assessment and support for service users.
To work in collaboration with the Operational Manager, ensuring the highest standards of practice and service delivery, providing day-to-day management, leadership, and supervision to a multi-disciplinary EMDASS team.
The Deputy Community Manager will manage nurses and administrative staff, ensuring that the needs of service users are met through the effective deployment of these staff.
The Deputy Community Manager will contribute at a local level to the development and implementation of policies and procedures and may, on occasion, deputise for the Operational Manager in their absence, as agreed with the Service Line Leader.
The Deputy Community Manager will ensure, in collaboration with other professional colleagues, that professional practice meets standards as set by HPFT and/or professional statutes and bodies.
Main duties of the job
The post of Deputy Community Manager will be based in Rosanne House, Welwyn Garden City, providing leadership support to the East and North part of the Early Memory Diagnosis and Support Service. The post holder will support the other Deputy Community Manager and the Operational Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the East and North EMDASS team. The post holder will work together with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver a high standard of care and remain compliant with MSNAP Accreditation. Staff development is a priority, with a Personal Development Plan and regular supervision provided to support this.

To plan, prioritise and manage the delivery of pre-diagnostic support, memory assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and post-diagnostic support to service users suspected with dementia within Hertfordshire, including overseeing referrals and ensuring an even and appropriate distribution of work across the team.
To oversee referrals and the allocation of service users to workers, ensuring that caseloads are monitored and managed.
To ensure adequate staff numbers are organized appropriately around service user needs and to incorporate this into rota planning.
To ensure that risks relating to service users, unmet needs, and the work environment are assessed and managed appropriately, ensuring all team members know and understand their role in risk management.
To provide operational supervision and make arrangements for appropriate professional and clinical supervision to be available to all team members.
To implement and monitor relevant operational policies and protocols, team systems, and processes for the effective operation of the team.
To ensure quality of care standards and procedures which support the Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Trust strategy and maintain compliance with MSNAP accreditation standards.
To monitor the waiting list and ensure that the team's activities are targeted to service users, fulfilling the agreed criteria.

In collaboration with the Service Line Leader, to undertake the timely recruitment selection, appointment, and induction of team members.
To manage the delegated team budget with respect to operational and service delivery costs.

To monitor and manage, in conjunction with the Operational Manager, all staff sickness and absences.
