Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Club Manager to run bar and club operations at the Hardwicke
RBL Club, Gloucester.
The ideal candidate will have experience in bar management, a strong commitment to customer service, and the ability to lead a team. This is full time role which will include evenings, weekends, and bank holidays,
Key Responsibilities
Bar and Beverage Service:
• Managing day-to-day bar operations, ensuring smooth service during shifts.
• Serve beverages to members and guests professionally, maintaining quality and adhering to licensing regulations.
• Oversee stock levels and ordering as needed to ensure supplies are available.
Customer Service:
• Provide a warm, friendly welcome to all club members and visitors.
• Address customer enquiries, requests, and any concerns during shifts, escalating issues to the club officers when necessary.
• Maintain a safe, friendly, and inclusive environment, supporting club policies.
Staff Supervision:
• Lead and supervise bar staff or volunteers during shifts, ensuring service standards are met.
• Provide on-the-job training and support for bar staff, promoting a high standard of customer service.
• Prepare shift schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels.
Cash Handling and EPOS Management:
• Handle cash and operate the EPOS system accurately, completing cashing-up procedures at the end of each shift.
• Ensure compliance with cash handling policies and maintain accurate sales records.
Cellar and Stock Management:
• Carry out Cellar management, including organising stock, monitoring keg and barrel levels, and ensuring beer lines are cleaned regularly.
• Maintain cellar cleanliness and organisation, supporting optimal storage and quality of drinks served.
Club Maintenance and Cleanliness:
• Ensure the bar area and seating spaces are clean and presentable at all times, meeting club standards.
• Identify any maintenance or repair needs and report them to the club officers to ensure the club remains welcoming.
Collaboration with the Officers of the Club and Committee:
• Work closely with the officers of the club and the club committee when required to support the effective operation of the club.
• Organise staff meetings as needed to discuss club performance, share ideas, and ensure alignment with club goals.
Desired Qualifications:
• Level 2 Personal Licence
Qualification is preferred.
• Must be over 21 years old.
• Minimum of 2 year of experience in a bar, hospitality, or supervisory role.
• English, Maths at level 4 and above (GCSE C and above or equivalent)
• Management qualification
• First aid at work qualification
• Qualifications in health and safety
• Qualifications in manual handling
Experience and Skills:
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable
manner.
• Basic knowledge of cellar management, including beer line cleaning and stock handling.
• Proficiency in EPOS (Electronic
Point of Sale) systems and basic cash handling procedures.
• Effective staff supervision skills, with experience leading or supporting bar staff.
• Organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks during busy periods.
• Basic understanding of health and safety standards in hospitality.
• Experience doing rotas for staff
• Good knowledge and understanding in Health and Safety
• Good understanding of first aid at work
