Didcot Community Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join the administration team on a part-time basis to work weekends: Saturdays 8am-8pm and Sundays 8am-2pm.
You will need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively deal with a diverse range of people in a sensitive and confidential manner, as well as strong IT skills including Microsoft Office.
Please note: due to the structure of the interviews for this role, we will be holding these face-to-face at our Didcot Community Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The successful individual will be motivated and enjoy working in a challenging and busy environment providing a comprehensive administration service.
This role would suit a confident individual who is able to use their own initiative to manage competing and conflicting demands.
* Forwarding referrals prepared by clinicians to internal and external teams taking into consideration confidentiality and sensitive data management
* Liaising with external providers/health care teams to ensure correct processes are in place
* Answering the telephone, taking messages and helping with enquiries
* Checking emails daily and printing off as necessary
* Assisting housekeeping and nursing staff with ordering supplies via e-procurement as required

Person Specification
Qualifications - Academic/Skills/Professional
* Good general education including English and maths
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email, and the Internet.
Knowledge & Experience
* Experience of working in a busy office with interface with the public.
* Working knowledge of working in a fast-paced, busy office.
* Confidence in dealing with patients and their families and the general public in a professional manner.
* Previous NHS experience and knowledge.
Contractual Requirements
* Ability to maintain confidentiality
* Ability to travel between sites
