We're seeking an SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team in a school based in Denton, starting ASAP. Location: Denton, Greater Manchester Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Full-time The Role As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you'll provide vital support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in young lives. Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs. Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies. Foster a positive and supportive learning environment to help students develop confidence and resilience. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to deliver tailored interventions. Promote positive behavior and emotional well-being through patience and understanding. What We're Looking For Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (or similar roles). A calm, empathetic, and nurturing approach. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with students. Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and behavior management strategies is an advantage.
