Our sales team plays a vital role in the growing organisation, focusing on growing sales by identifying, evaluating, and winning new accounts within the Electrical Division. Who we work with is everything to us; our relationships with customers really matter. The team focuses on developing sales strategies and plans to meet the business requirements.
For this role, you will be required to travel to our Preston Office as needed and travel to customer sites as and when the business requires.
What will you be doing?
As a Business Development Manager for the BES Electrical sales team, you will be developing and managing the electrical sales pipeline. You will focus on growing long-term profitable business by monitoring and researching the market to identify potential new accounts that fit in with our business strategy and goals.
You will:
* Lead and contribute to the winning of new accounts; including making presentations, engaging in negotiations, ensuring follow-up and production of necessary documentation.
* Visit customer sites to present our services and survey their requirements.
* Set up new accounts by creating accurate records and required documents and informing all parties of agreed terms of business and service standards.
* Manage the overall sales pipeline to achieve sales targets.
* Contribute to the wider development of effective business strategies, priorities, and market propositions, drawing on knowledge, interpretation of local markets and competitors.
* Support and advise Account Managers with identifying and prioritising new business opportunities with existing Accounts.
* Contribute to the development of marketing strategies and initiatives to raise awareness and generate leads and new business opportunities.
* Comply with the required standards of sales excellence and best practice, operating effectiveness and efficiency, in line with all legal and regulatory requirements.

To join our team, you will need:
* Significant experience in technical B2B sales within volume organisations.
* Knowledge of the Electrical or Facilities Management industry.
* Highly effective sales, communication, and presentation skills.
* Experience in the management of bids, tenders, contract negotiations, and opportunity pipelines.
* Strong relationship building, influencing, and negotiating skills.
* Methodical, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise while paying close attention to meeting targets.
* Be a role model for less experienced colleagues, offering support and expertise.
* Excellent attention to detail, especially when working with detailed proposals and CRM systems (experience using MS Dynamics would also be an advantage).
