The Client
Our client, one of the leading Approved Inspectors, offers building control services tailored to client requirements. My client can provide solutions when you want them, where you want them, from design phase to completion.
The Role
Due to continued expansion, my client is now looking for Building Control Surveyors within the Manchester area.
Working in a defined geographical area, you will support and build relationships with clients by providing proactive building regulations plans and site assessments/inspections and conduct services on a diverse range of projects.
Duties of the post include, but are not limited to:
1. Inspecting buildings being constructed and/or converted, working closely with Developers and Builders to ensure the works are in accordance with Building Regulations.
2. Plan checking to ensure compliance with the building regulations.
3. Effectively self-manage by forward-planning own workload to provide a responsive, helpful, and professional service whilst maximizing time spent on site.
4. Recording inspection details on the database and communicating comments to customers.
5. Ongoing liaison with Surveyors and Management on technical matters to ensure that standards are maintained and procedures adhered to.
6. Ongoing liaison with Developers/Clients/Builders, offering technical advice and guidance.
7. Undertake any other duties as reasonably required and build relationships.
Experience and Qualifications Required
1. Ideally registered to BSR Level 2-3 or on route.
2. You will be great with clients, technically astute, organized, and self-motivated.
3. Full member or near chartership of professional organizations: MRICS / MCABE, MCIOB, MCICIOW or similar in the appropriate discipline of Building Control.
4. Able to conduct inspections at each stage of the build.
5. 5 years relevant BC experience, plan check, site inspections, and relevant warranty, quality, or defect resolution experience.
6. Appropriate knowledge and understanding of the Building Regulations, associated legislation, and construction standards.
7. Understanding of general insurance principles and terminology desirable.
