We are seeking an experienced Environment, Health and Safety Advisor to join an experienced team of professionals supporting the unique challenges and scale of a port operation.
Your role
In this role, you will work collaboratively with our operations and engineering teams, providing advice, guidance and support on all aspects of Health and Safety. You will conduct topic audits/inspections, assessing compliance with EHS legislation, conducting and supporting investigations into why unwanted events occur, and supporting the development and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence with co-operation from colleagues. You will support the generation of risk assessments and systems of work, ensuring these are communicated effectively across our diverse workforce.
What you'll bring
You will have experience of working within sectors such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, bulk powders, automotive, nuclear or rail. You will also have experience of working in environments certified to ISO 9001/14001/45001 and will ideally be a qualified auditor.
With excellent communication and interpersonal ability, you will be able to deliver compelling advice to and influence a broad range of stakeholders and drive behavioural change.
You will have a good working knowledge of UK regulatory and legislative EHS requirements and qualified to at least NEBOSH General Certificate, working towards Tech SP / CMIOSH
You will have good IT skills; outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
