We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled R&D System Verification Engineer to join our dynamic team focused on the testing of Dexter surgical robot. As a key member of the Research and Development team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our existing system design verification activities, ensuring the reliability, functionality, and regulatory compliance of our robot, Dexter.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Implement, execute, and report test procedures using a mix of manual, semi-automated, and automated methods.
* Dive into the Software System, System Integration, and System Verification Testing to ensure excellence at every step.
Requirements and Test Cases:
* Translate requirements into ingenious test cases.
* Take charge of designing, implementing, and validating test benches for software system and system-level testing, shaping the future of our Dexter.
Defect Detective:
* Uncover defects, providing insightful preliminary impact assessments and risk analyses.
* Defect analysis investigations, including reproduction and regression testing, will be critical in maintaining the highest standards.
* Team up with the Validation, Software and Mechatronic managers to craft characterization tests that elevate the consistency of our Design History File (DHF).
* Contribute to system-level and regulatory requirements engineering and architectural design engineering.
Design Control:
* Bring your skills to the Design Control activities when required.
* Establish and maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, test procedures, and test results, ensuring a seamless and efficient workflow.
Work Experience and Education Requirements:
* MSc degree in Engineering – Mechatronics or similar.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in the development and/or verification of complex mechatronics products.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
* Hands-on experience with Vector Informatik products such as CANoe and vTESTStudio; equivalent expertise with dSPACE, NI TestStand, or Matlab/Simulink will be considered.
* Experience with scripting languages (CAPL, Python, or similar) applied to testing.
* Ability to see the purpose and interlinks between the design verification activities and the real clinical use of the product.
* Expertise translating requirements into test cases and test cases into test scripts (manual, semi-automated, or automated), for complex embedded systems and/or robotic control algorithms.
* Proficiency in handling requirements management tools, such as Polarion ALM, Doors, or similar platforms.
* Hands-on experience with the CAN bus physical layer and expertise in CANopen communication layers. Additionally, familiarity with Ethernet, UDP, TCP/IP, or EtherCAT communication layers is desirable.
* Knowledge of at least one of the following communication protocols: DDS, UART, SPI, I2C will be considered.
* Solid exposure to the V-Model development life cycle, including verification phase of complex systems.
* Strong inner drive, communication skills, and inclusive collaboration mindset.
* Language: English; French is a plus.
