Primary purpose and function of position:
Reporting to the Reliability First Line Manager, the main purpose of this position is to support the shift/PTE's/day team and organise the team to meet maintenance schedules, drive continuous improvement whilst also carrying out planned and reactive maintenance as required in support of the Production areas in order to improve the reliability and safety of the plant and production processes.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Working for the Bottling Reliability Team, you will work in a team consisting of multi-skilled engineers. You will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance within the production areas.
You will also be expected to act as a role model for safety and lead by example; advocate team members to take personal responsibility for their own safety and take action when unsafe behaviour is observed or reported. The role requires you to facilitate appropriate allocation of manpower resource from within the team to man all areas on site.
The job requires the consistent execution of routine tasks (daily / weekly / monthly). The role holder must be capable of effectively carrying out maintenance related tasks. In addition, whilst maintaining the highest safety standards and product quality, the role of the Multi Operator is to coach and lead using the VPO tools and processes to ensure his team in collaboration with Line Owners, FLM's and Operators deliver results whilst maintaining excellent housekeeping standards.

Duties include:
Mechanical / Electrical maintenance as per the Job Descriptions for Mechanical / Electrical Engineer incl.:
* Undertake, drive and support maintenance and improvement activities
* Identify and formalise CI opportunities
* In collaboration with PTE's, liaise with suppliers of OEM's for the provision of spares/services
* Support the development and maintenance of a high performance, flexible and "can do" culture
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance
* Machinery fault diagnosis and repairs
* Use of Plant Optimisation tools to ensure sustainability of high departmental standards including 5S, Hygiene and PDCA
* Share best practices across shifts/day team and PTE's, with respect to maintenance and CIL
* Review and develop safety and maintenance procedures (SWI)
* Record all maintenance activities within the maintenance management system (SAP)
* Attend maintenance prioritisation, shutdown and planning meetings
* Identify critical spares for designated machines together with team
* Manage refurbishment of spares as required
* Support implementation of new projects in the department with focus on maintenance routines: Creating BOM's, Critical Spare parts list, PM's with PTE
* Carry out quality inspections on jobs during MTE days
* Liaise & assist client departments and customers
* Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment
* Write, review & update maintenance SOP's, OPL's, SWI's, reaction plans & job tasks.
* Work in a safe manner following all company policies and procedures
* Ensure all safety systems are in working order
* Comply with health, safety, hygiene and 5S standards, policies and practices at all times and ensure standards are maintained
Additional accountabilities:
* Receive handover from the Multi Operator / FLM of the outgoing shift and ensure that all relevant reports have been updated by previous shift i.e. shift log and maintenance log. Read handover log and pass on relevant information as required to the rest of the team and FLM.
* Facilitate appropriate allocation of manpower resource from within the team to man all areas on site.
* Update TMS and Holiday roster
* Ensure SKAP assessment of day technicians are completed, plans exist to meet training needs
* Attend daily morning Planning Meeting in conjunction with FLM. Give an update of previous 24 hours and highlight any issues. Request next 24 hours requirements and flag any forecasted issues that will impact site. NB: This is a training & development opportunity
* Liaise with shift teams/planners to ensure all breakdowns are completed, reported in a timely manner, recorded correctly and follow-up information is available to ensure the best possible service.
* Report hazards via Hazard Report System. Record any accidents & incidents via Injury Notification Form and assist where possible in any subsequent accident/incident investigation. Inform FLM immediately.
* Ensure Zone Hygiene standards are maintained as per Zone Hygiene Sheets, and ensure VPO Standards are maintained. Report what has been achieved to FLM.
* Identify and communicate appropriate safety precautions including internal and external risk assessments.
* Ensure that internal and external customers are serviced in an efficient manner to the standard specified e.g. right quantity / right time.
* Undertake activities to support the department in achieving KPI targets
* Undertake activities to support VPO compliance and sustainability
* Undertake training for new skills and tasks as requested by Management
* Review risk assessments and methods statements; write/sign work permits when required
Key skills, knowledge and Competencies:

Key Experience and Qualifications:
* Recognised apprenticeship, NVQ3 or equivalent mechanical / electrical qualification
* HNC Qualified together with 3y+ in FMCG experience
* Proven fault finding and maintenance of high speed production equipment
* Experience in a multi-disciplined engineering function
* Excellent knowledge of manufacturing principles, tools and techniques
* PLC and network configuration will be an added advantage
