Summary Role The delivery of high-quality gymnastics lessons and courses and social Gymnastics activities The Gymnastics Coach is responsible to the General Manager or Line Manager Charitable Social Enterprise Difference and Strategic Ambitions As a charitable social enterprise, we are different. We make a difference by: Providing balanced leisure centre, library and children centre programmes and activities that meet local needs and are accessible to all. Providing training, routes to employment and career development opportunities to local people. Sponsoring thousands of promising athletes through our GLL Sports Foundation. Delivering targeted initiatives in partnership with local communities, groups and health providers. We aim to be the most successful and influential leisure & cultural social enterprise in the UK. We have determined the key areas we need to focus on to deliver our purpose, and these are captured in six high level strategic themes. We have developed a framework to deliver these six themes, which we express as the ‘GLL Cube’ – each face of the Cube representing one of the themes – as shown adjacent (in laid out form before putting all together). We use the analogy of the Cube because of the connectivity between the six faces (in terms of how they either impact on others and/or reflect on them). Each of these themes sets out long term ambitions; which are regularly reviewed and updated and are reflected in the responsibilities and accountabilities of this role (Section 3 below). Responsibilities and Accountabilities Ensuring the facility is prepared for use in accordance with the planned programme. Ensuring that all areas of the facility are maintained to the highest possible standards of safety, cleanliness, security and operational effectiveness and efficiency. Providing visible leadership to facility staff, ensuring they are motivated and operate at high levels of both performance and efficiency Maintaining a clear customer focus and high visibility within the centre, proactively developing and maintaining high standards of customer care. Teach high quality gymnastics at a variety of levels Deliver lessons that are safe, fun and progressive Safe coaching and supporting skills Complete registers and assessments of participants using handheld devices Completing or assisting with equipment set ups / set down Completing or assisting with warm-ups and cool downs Assisting with the assessment process (award scheme and skills matrix) Providing parental feedback where required Other Act in accordance with and actively promotes all GLL policies and standards. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post’s level of responsibility or required particularly because of events outside of GLL’s business control (pandemics etc). Work flexibly in line with the needs of the business at peak flow times, evenings and weekends. Deliver critical incident management as and when required.
