Hear from our team about what it's like working at Policy Expert ✨ The Role We are looking for a finance systems expert to join our team and help drive the ongoing transformation of the finance function at Policy Expert Policy Expert has been investing in its finance team, evolving at pace into a modern finance team to appropriately support the growth of the wider group. In the last 12-18 months we have invested in a new general ledger system (Sage Intacct) and SAP Concur for accounts payable, travel and expenses. We’re looking to continue this transformation with various other finance system developments on the road ahead. You can expect lots of opportunity to contribute to the success of Policy Expert in a team that continues to grow, evolve and drive improvement. Key duties will include: · Take the lead on the implementation of finance systems such as: Vena (ROLAP planning and reporting application), Reconart (transaction matching and balance sheet certification) and PT-X (BACs software). · Provide clear communication to stakeholders on progress against projects, appropriately highlighting areas of risk or opportunity. · Contribute to the direction and strategy for finance systems and process development · Administration, maintenance and management of finance systems. · Identify and support with the development and delivery of process and reporting improvements across the finance function. · Ensure appropriate user access controls and segregations of duty are appropriately documented and managed. Key duties will include: · Support drafting and reviewing financial statements under FRS102, and advising on any changes to accounting standards as required. · Drafting of papers on key accounting matters for Audit and Reserving Committees. · Work with the Group Financial Controller on key accounting matters, with opportunity to present on these to the Chief Financial Officer and Audit Committee Chair. · Significant contribution to managing the annual and interim audit. · Develop and document accounting processes, systems and controls. · Provision of accounting and reporting support to other teams as required, including supporting with the investigation and reconciliation of accounting issues that may arise. · Working with the record to report team to support with the monthly close process for the Group’s trading entities. Driving the monthly close timetable. · Oversight of group level accounting entries (such as VAT, corporation tax, investments in subsidiaries, debt and equity etc). · Review of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy of financial reporting and highlighting areas requiring further analysis. Tracking and completion of balance sheet action points. Who are you: · Likely to have experience in a similar role, or have a demonstrable flair for finance systems in previous roles. · Experience of Sage Intacct, SAP Concur, Vena and/or Reconart would be an advantage – whilst curiosity and enthusiasm for systems is essential. · Experience working in larger organisations that are likely to have mature reporting and control processes. · A willingness to share ideas and collaborate with colleagues to make changes to systems and processes. · Qualified (or part-qualified) CIMA/ACCA/ACA would be an advantage · Excellent analytical and MS Excel skills with the ability to interpret financial data. · Strong communication skills, and able to work independently, using own initiative to achieve deliverables.
