We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Facilities Assistant to join our team at Devon Partnership NHS Trust.
In this role, you'll be instrumental in maintaining a safe and efficient environment for both patients and staff. Your work will help ensure that the facilities we use are well-maintained and welcoming, contributing to the overall quality of care we deliver to those who need mental health services.
About You
We're looking for a Facilities Assistant who can demonstrate:
* A strong understanding of health and safety requirements in a healthcare setting.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of individuals.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This role is based at Torbay Hospital, but it's important to note that we are part of Devon Partnership NHS Trust, which provides mental health services, not Torbay and South Devon Healthcare Trust.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role are to provide a cleaning service to various wards and areas in our site and also to provide a meal service to our patients.
Our main focus is to meet the national standard of cleanliness, making sure our services run smoothly and that patient care is the highest priority.
* Cleaning duties within the allocated department of work and associated areas in accordance with the departmental cleaning schedule, National Cleaning Standards and including specialist cleaning as required by Infection Control.
* Assist with ad hoc light Portering duties.
* Checking equipment to be used and displaying warning signs to comply with the Health and Safety Regulations.
* Ensuring correct waste segregation disposal procedures in accordance with Trust policy.
* Regeneration and serving of food, beverage preparation and associated duties.
* Distribution and collection of linen to wards and departments and other associated laundry duties.
* Completion of Trust and departmental paperwork in accordance with standing instructions.
* Assistance with Health, Safety, Hygiene and monitoring checks/audits.
* To observe Food Hygiene Legislation, hospital and client policies and procedures at all times, reporting any faults, defects or operational issues to the Supervisor/Manager/Client representative.
* Engagement with all training programmes/courses relevant to the role.

* QCF level 2 or equivalent in Hospitality/cleaning and support services, or willing to work towards achieving qualification

* Able to organise own day to day work task obtained through good practice
Experience
* Experience in cleaning but training will be provided.
