The role
As a Senior Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This role sits within our Cavendish Nuclear business, from decommissioning redundant nuclear facilities, through supporting the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, to supporting the operation and build of nuclear power plants. Our role in Cavendish Nuclear is to clean up the nuclear legacy and create a world where nuclear plays a key contribution in protecting our nation, ensuring security of energy supply and meeting our net zero commitments.
Day to day, you’ll be responsible for managing the delivery of engineering and technical activities, through the application of process, domain knowledge and experience across our projects.
* Promote effective cooperation across Engineering and other functional teams to enhance collaboration and efficiency.
* Interface with customers and supply chain on design issues, assisting with procurement specifications to ensure smooth operations.
* Ensure procedures, codes, and standards are correctly identified and applied to all engineering and technical activities.
* Contribute to Product Safety Assessment and process improvement within the operational and design lifecycle, aiming for continuous quality and efficiency improvements.
* Provide a technical interface with internal and external stakeholders, supporting the Project Manager in planning, control, and delivery of tasks and projects.
* Produce, review, and verify technical outputs, including calculations, analyses, technical reports, and specifications, making engineering decisions within delegated authority.
The role operates on a 37-hour work week and includes hybrid and flexible working.
Essential experience of the Senior Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineer
* Experience in working collaboratively in multi-discipline teams to deliver activities on a range of project types.
* Demonstrable experience in covering a variety of tasks.
* Communication skills and the ability to interface with other disciplines.
Qualifications for the Senior Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineer
* Engineering degree (or equivalent qualification) in relevant engineering discipline, with demonstrable experience.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain baseline security clearance for this role.
