Evoke Staffing have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Machining Technician to join our market leading client based in Bicester.
This role is responsible for controlling the workshop; connecting supply chains, goods in/out and hands-on machine works to deliver a leading workshop facility for the business and its customers. The role will involve the development and training of the companies new engineering apprentice.
Pay: £16.50 per hour for the first 12 weeks.
Once permanent a salary will be reflected between £(phone number removed) pa.
Hours: Monday – Friday 08:30-16:30 (37.5 hours per week)
Responsibilities:
* Assemble and Disassemble parts, both on small and large scale.
* Regularly working on specialist components on workshop machines (Lathes & Milling Machines), ensuring the required spec and tolerances are applied and quality check standards are met.
* Control the plan of works in the workshop to prioritise and optimise outputs, usage, space and resource.
* Receiving units, stripping & inspecting them and then building reports ready to quote external customers on repairs.
* Working closely with suppliers of parts, internally and externally.
* Schedule the planned maintenance, calibration and repairs of all workshop equipment and ensure records are maintained and accurate and to minimise downtime or accessibility issues.
* Effectively coordinate with internal and external customers to ensure they are kept up to date on ongoing works.
* Schedule and document all incoming and outgoing machinery/project freight, including booking hauliers, loading/unloading of goods and actioning required paperwork to meet regulations and internal processes.
* Arrange all end-to-end transport of goods to customers both nationally and internationally.
* Support required building checks, inspections and maintenance (ie; ventilation, cranes, lifts, drainage and fire checks. This list is not exhaustive).
* Any other professional activity we may from time to time require that is commensurate with the role holder’s skills and experience.
Requirements:
* Previous machining/milling experience.
* Good general engineering knowledge.
* Previous use of micrometres.
* Hold a current Counterbalance Forklift licence to RTITB or ITTSAR accreditation. (desirable but not essential.)
* Highly proficient in Written and Spoken English.
* Possess a problem-solving mindset.
