A secondary school in Tameside is seeking an experienced Behaviour Mentor to support students with behavioural and emotional needs. The Behaviour Mentor will play a key role in helping students develop positive coping strategies, manage their emotions, and engage effectively in their education. This position is ideal for someone with a background in youth work, mentoring, psychology, or behaviour support, looking to make a positive difference in a school setting.

Salary: £90-£110 per day (dependent on experience)
Responsibilities:
* Provide targeted behaviour support for students with challenging behaviours, helping them navigate their emotions and reduce disruptive conduct
* Work 1:1 or with small groups of students to deliver interventions focused on social and emotional development, including anger management, conflict resolution, and building resilience
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to develop and implement behaviour intervention plans (BIPs) tailored to individual student needs
* Build strong, positive relationships with students, acting as a mentor and role model to guide them in making positive behavioural changes
* Support students in managing their emotions both in the classroom and during break times, helping them stay focused on their learning
* Help students understand their triggers and develop strategies to manage challenging behaviour in a constructive way
* Monitor and track progress in students' behaviour, providing regular updates to teachers, parents, and school leaders
* Support students' reintegration into full-class settings after behavioural incidents, ensuring they feel supported and ready to re-engage with their learning
* Act as a liaison between the school and external agencies, working collaboratively to support students' welfare
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with young people, preferably in an educational, youth work, or mentoring context
* Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations
* A proactive, positive approach to supporting students with behavioural or emotional difficulties
