The Role This role offers the successful candidate the chance to play a leading role in ensuring that students, who have educational health and care plans (EHCP), have the appropriate support and opportunities to help them succeed and reach their full potential. Ensuring students have access to supportive work provision and training, removing barriers to their learning journey. You will use your excellent communication and organisational skills to make a significant contribution to the success of the Groups Pre and Supported Internship programme by working with employers to place learners who are not job ready to experience the world of work. You will get to understand the work experience needs of learners with a range of Special Educational Needs and will provide advice and guidance to learners on ensuring the job role and work matches with their skills, expertise and personal targets. Skills and Qualifications You will have experience working with support services in a Further Education setting and desirably supporting young people with Special Educational Needs. Working in a customer focussed environment is essential and working with employers would be advantageous. You will hold the Occupational Standard for Support Employment Qualification (or willingness to work towards) and Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths (or be willing to undertake). It is desirable that you will hold a qualification related to CEIAG, Business Administration or Customer Service. Department Info You will report to the Interim High Needs Curriculum Manager who will give you direction on the role of the team and provide advice and guidance. You will coordinate and manage the Job Coaches on a day-to-day basis and provide guidance.
