The Integration Trials & Test Script Engineer – Servers will be responsible for writing test scripts for acceptance testing of an IT system. The individual will report to the project Test Managers and be integrated into the IT&T team. They will be responsible for developing new and modifying existing test scripts for the Core/Hub Networks, undertaking formal and informal testing in support of the System Test Plan, and proving test scripts on Test & Development Rig(s).
Key Responsibilities:
* Test Script Development: Develop and modify test scripts for Core/Hub Networks.
* Testing: Conduct formal and informal testing in support of the System Test Plan.
* Test Documentation: Prepare test documentation including test plans, test scripts, evidence collection, defect reports, and progress updates.
* Functional, Non-Functional, and Regression Testing: Perform various types of testing to ensure system integrity.
* Installation & Configuration: Install and configure Microsoft Windows Server 2012R2/16 core roles and features.
* Documentation: Document test procedures and write release notes.
Experience:
* Preparing test documentation including test plans, test scripts, evidence collection, defect reports, and progress updates.
* Performing functional, non-functional, and regression testing.
* Installation and configuration of Microsoft Windows Server 2012R2/16 core roles and features.
* Documenting test procedures and writing release notes.
Skills:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Server 2012R2/16 based technologies such as AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Exchange, SfB, SQL, etc.
* Exceptional communication skills with diverse and adverse audiences.
* Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
* Ability to respond to changing project time scales and prioritize work accordingly.
* Knowledge of or experience with military IS systems.
* MCSE/MCSA Server 2012R2, VMWARE VCP certification.
* Virtualization capabilities such as VDI and multi-tenancy.
* Familiarity with Military Information Services such as NATO FAS, UK Base Services, and MOD Business management applications.
* A firm grasp of PKI integration and utilization, preferably with experience in Defence PKI.
* Experience with Confluence and Jira.
* Working within Agile methodologies.
Desirable Skills:
* Familiarity with security frameworks such as CIS benchmarks or ISO 27001.
* Hands-on experience with high availability clustering and replication.
* Familiarity with virtualization technologies.
* Experience with automated patch management in database environments.
* ServiceNow environment experience is desirable.
* Experience transitioning systems to service.
Additional Information:
Location: Based in Corsham, expected to be in 2-3 days a week. Not expected to need to travel elsewhere, but if that is required, suitable T&E will be covered.
Working Days: 220 working days a year.
Contract Duration: 28 April 2025 – 31 March 2026.
IR35 Status: Inside IR35.
Rate: Up to £500 per day
