Hedingham Medical Centre are looking to welcome an experienced dispenser into our busy practice, to deal with the day-to-day support for our rural general practice dispensary. This position is offered on a part-time basis for 13.5 hours a week, working Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays 8.30am - 1pm. The main responsibilities of the role: Process all relevant prescriptions and repeat prescriptions accurately and efficiently as authorised by GPs and prescribing nurses where appropriate in accordance with the principles of good practice. Assist the dispensary manager in ensuring effective financial control of the dispensary. Ensure that all medicines and appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription. Collect all due prescription charges. Process dossette boxes. Answer and deal with dispensary phone enquiries. Monitor patients’ exemption status. Sort and dispose of unwanted/returned medication. Any other duties to assist in the smooth day to day running of the dispensary and surgery as directed by the dispensary manager.
