An extraordinary opportunity has opened for a VAT Associate Director to lead business development in a thriving Top-20 Accountancy Firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert VAT advice and solutions to a diverse range of clients, winning and managing their own portfolio, and creating and maintaining strong and long-lasting relationships with clients, Directors, and staff.

Description
Although formally situated in Cardiff, the successful candidate can be based out of any of my client's Southern-UK offices, including central London.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Winning and managing own portfolio of clients.
* Providing industry-leading insights, solutions, and advice to build the firm's reputation and client base.
* Promoting the firm's products, services, and image to generate new business opportunities and enhance its reputation.
* Creating and maintaining strong and long-lasting relationships with clients, Directors, and staff.
* Contributing to strategic and business planning to deliver an increase in revenue and profits.
* Recruiting, developing, and managing a high-performing team who deliver a great service to clients and meet their billing targets.
* Creating a high-performing culture where people live the vision, mission, and values and act to improve if not.
* Holding responsibility for client relationships up to £600k of revenue to ensure the best possible value, advice, and quality and compliance for clients.
* Ensuring client work complies with all legal and ethical standards and statutory regulations.
* Providing leadership and direction to the team to help motivate and inspire people to higher performance.
* Setting performance measures, reviewing performance, and taking effective action to improve when off track.
* Developing workforce planning and workload management processes that ensure the correct staffing levels to process workload.
* Developing people, processes, systems, and practices to raise productivity and output quality.
* Being a strong role model for the organisation's values and standards to develop a high-performance culture.
* Developing and maintaining the highest standards of technical knowledge and expertise for self and others.
* Measuring the service provided to clients and implementing improvements to deliver industry-leading service to clients.
* Completing own portfolio of client work to provide industry-leading insights and advice.
Profile
A successful VAT Associate Director should have:
* Strong corporate sector VAT consulting experience; be commercially savvy, and possess the people skills to have an impact with both clients and internally.
* The ability to work on clients both nationally and locally and be excited about playing a real part in the firm's ongoing success.
* UK VAT consulting experience and enthusiasm for the type of work the team is getting involved in and the prospects on offer.
* Prior VAT Housing Association and/or public sector focus useful but not essential.
