About you: As Real Estate Legal Counsel for Søstrene Grene, you will report directly into our Group General Counsel and will have responsibility for providing legal advice and support in relation to all aspects of our property and lease agreements across the UK. This includes reviewing, negotiating, and managing commercial leases, supporting expansion efforts, and ensuring compliance with UK property law. You will play a key role in assisting the business as it grows, with a strong focus on optimizing existing lease agreements and advising on new property transactions. You will be part of a passionate team with a high level of drive and a strong focus on execution. Your typical responsibilities will include: Review, negotiate, and draft commercial lease agreements, lease renewals, and variations, ensuring they align with Søstrene Grene's business objectives and risk management strategies. Provide expert legal advice on real estate matters, including leasehold agreements, property acquisitions, disposals, and development projects, ensuring compliance with UK property law. Review and assess the company's existing leases, identifying opportunities for renegotiation or optimization of terms to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Identify and mitigate potential legal risks related to real estate transactions, including disputes with landlords, tenants, and third parties. Work closely with internal teams, including property, finance, and operations, to ensure that legal considerations are fully integrated into strategic decisions regarding real estate. Stay up-to-date with changes in UK property law and ensure compliance with relevant regulations in all real estate transactions and leasing activities. Assisting the Real Estate Directors with legal matters. To succeed in this role, you have 5-10 years of experience from a similar position where you are accustomed to handling contracts and legislation, and you should also be self-sufficient in navigating UK property law. The position offers a high degree of freedom, allowing you to shape the role. Additionally, experience in the retail industry would be an advantage.
