Here, you can fully utilise your problem-solving skills and attention to detail as a Research and Development Engineer. Your contributions will be vital in shaping the future of our products and setting new industry standards. The role as a Research and Design Engineer: Design and develop new steel door products and improve existing designs using SolidWorks. Conduct product testing and performance analysis, Research new materials, technologies, and manufacturing techniques. Collaborate with production, quality, and sales teams to ensure seamless product integration. Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications and checking of test reports. Participate in prototype development and testing. Identify and resolve technical challenges throughout the product lifecycle. Product Performance Metrics – Achievement of performance goals such as fire resistance, durability, insulation and security test results. Ensure Compliance and Regularity Standards. Design Defect Rates logging. Ensure Projects are delivered in time or ahead of schedule. To be successful in this Research and Design Engineer's role you will need: Proven experience in product design and development, preferably in steel or construction products. Proficient in SolidWorks. CWSP (Preferred) Knowledge of manufacturing processes, material properties, and quality standards. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. A good understanding of sheet metal fabrication machinery and production Ability to report back to senior management Experience of product design using sheet metal or other CNC production methods. Full UK driving license and flexibility to travel where required. Flexible approach The package on offer in this Research and Design Engineers role: Monday - Thursday 7am - 4pm, Friday 7am – 1pm Basic salary of £40,000 Paid Holiday & Company Pension.
