Job Title: Forest School Practitioner Location: Warwickshire - Wellesbourne Hours: Full-time Salary: £21,940.92 - £24,071.90 PERMANENT VACANCY Smart Education is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for a Non-Qualified Teacher/Forest School Practitioner at a unique outdoor setting for students aged 11-19 in Warwickshire. This role is perfect for an individual passionate about working with students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and dedicated to creating a fulfilling educational experience.In this position, the successful candidate will deliver small group sessions at a base designed specifically for a small group of students. The setting's "homely" atmosphere enables us to engage students emotionally, providing the best educational experience possible. Practitioners will need to build trusting relationships, offer security to vulnerable learners, and communicate clearly and confidently, especially under pressure. Essential Experience: • Minimum of 2 years’ experience developing and supporting children with ASC.• A strong understanding of various behaviour management techniques, focusing on resolution management and developmental reflection.• Experience working in partnership with professionals and parents/carers.• Passion for outdoor learning and the ability to incorporate this into the curriculum.• Practical knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education legislation. Essential Skills: • Behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.• Empathy and sensitivity to the needs of learners with ASC. Preferred Qualifications: • Up-to-date qualifications in safe handling of students (Team Teach).• First Aid.• Autism Level 1&2.• Forest School Qualification (L3). Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to): • Compliance with the adopted teacher matrix.• Planning creative yet target-based Schemes of Work tailored to students' individual needs.• Advocating for outdoor learning, integrating it into lessons where possible.• Supporting students’ progress in their autism and/or related behaviours.• Marking students’ work and providing feedback.• Contributing to the overall ethos of the base and promoting British values.• Using assessment software to track and report student progress.• Developing and following individualized educational and personal improvement plans.• Collaborating across curriculum areas and working with other teachers.• Promoting an environment conducive to progress, mindful of sensory needs.• Contributing to the development of students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs).• Leading inset day sessions and attending relevant meetings.• Engaging with the local community to enhance the students' learning experience.
