Role Overview:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with students, teachers, and pastoral staff to promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning. You will play a vital role in de-escalating challenging situations, providing one-to-one and small group interventions, and fostering a nurturing and structured environment where all students can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Supporting students in managing their behaviour and emotions effectively
✅ Implementing behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques
✅ Building positive relationships with students to improve engagement and well-being
✅ Assisting in the development and delivery of tailored intervention programs
✅ Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and parents to support individual student needs
✅ Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
✔ Experience working with children or young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs
✔ A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting behaviour
✔ Strong communication and relationship-building skills
✔ Knowledge of de-escalation techniques or training in Team Teach (desirable but not essential)
✔ A passion for making a difference in the lives of young people
