Compensation Data
Pay Range: $42.02/hr - $32.65/hr
Job Summary
As a Tool and Die Maker, you will be tasked with manually fabricating and modifying existing tooling and fixture for aircraft part manufacturing, with the use of conventional fabrication machinery such as Bridgeport Mills, Lathes and surface grinders, as well as manual and pneumatic fabrication tools. The position is for an experienced Tool and Die Maker who will require minimal instructions and the ability to problem solve.
Job Responsibilities
1. Bending metal and alloy to compound and simple curvatures while maintaining tight tolerances.
2. Welding aluminium, steel, stainless steel tubing, pipe, flat stock, etc.
3. Capability of using pneumatic and electric shop equipment such as die grinders, band saws, drill presses, etc.
4. Ability to lift heavy objects.
5. Ability to roll metal to compound and simple curvatures while maintaining tight tolerances.
6. Ability to work with sheet metal.
7. Must be able to develop complex fixtures and dies using blueprints.
8. Ability to use precision instruments such as micrometres, callipers, and other measuring equipment.
9. Ability to measure all precision items fabricated.
10. Ability to interpret complex blueprints and data.
11. Ability to solve problems using trigonometry and angles and interrelated dimensions in three dimensions.
12. Ability to reverse engineer complex tooling.
13. Ability to stand for long durations during working hours.
Job Qualifications
14. High School Diploma / GED
15. 10 years manufacturing and repairing of tools and fixture with proven ability to perform shop math, trigonometry, read/interpret blueprints and reverse engineer complex tools.
16. Must be able to perform to shop standards and additional duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision.
17. Must have experience in fabrication, bending, and welding of various materials and metallic/alloys.
18. Must comply with ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
19. Experience working in an Aerospace Manufacturing Environment
20. Strong communication, fluent and able to read and write in English.
21. Own tools to be used on the job.
22. Conventional machining knowledge
23. AWS certified welder
24. Plaster tool fabrication
25. Familiarity with ASI
