Job Description:
The Estimator’s responsibilities include but are not limited to: analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for hard metal parts. Creates and maintains manufacturing Routings and Bills of Materials for production of Aerospace components.
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Responsible for acknowledging Request for Quotes (RFQ’s), reviewing and interpreting technical data.
* Gathering info and quotes from vendors.
* Preparing complete quote packages for approval and review.
* Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned based upon the needs of the business.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills and Physical Requirements:
* Experience of estimating in aerospace field REQUIRED.
* Effective written and oral communication skills with established interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage time appropriately to meet deadlines.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities.
* Ability to read and interpret customer Blueprints, Specifications and Manufacturing Processes.
* Working knowledge of procedures including BOM creation and estimating.
* Well organized, self-directed.
* Familiar with machine capabilities and related processes.
Working Conditions:
Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts.
Physical Requirements:
* Must have ability to read applicable customer/B&E documents with or without corrective lenses.
* Must be able to lift up to ten (10) pounds at a time, as required.
* Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.
