Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust (NHCT) Diabetes Podiatry Services are looking for a highly motivated, proactive and focused qualified Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC) registered Podiatrist to join their department.
This job is based in the North Tyneside Diabetes Podiatry Team for 37.5 hours per week.

Main Duties of the Job
As a team member your duties will include delivering evidence-based podiatry treatments within clinics, GP surgeries, hospitals, patient's homes, and residential homes. Personal qualities required include excellent organisational skills, personal time management, and flexibility within your working practice to support the podiatry team.
Due to the nature of team working and patient interaction, you should demonstrate clear communication alongside efficient and effective problem-solving. To be a strong candidate, we are looking for a podiatrist who is able to integrate and deliver education into the multidisciplinary team, function within a supportive peer group, and display the strength of character to work autonomously.

Job Responsibilities
The post holder will provide professional, quality planned programmes of podiatry care to patients based on their clinical needs.
They will provide specialist care to patients in order to maintain mobility, independence, tissue viability, and to relieve discomfort, especially for those patients with diabetes, circulatory disorders, neuropathy, rheumatoid arthritis, and biomechanical pathologies.
They must be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, acting as a source of professional advice to patients, carers, GPs, and other healthcare professionals.
They will be expected to contribute to the development of the Podiatry Department and to adhere to Trust and Departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.

Qualifications
* Diploma/ Degree in Chiropody/Podiatric Medicine
* HPC registration
* Local anaesthetic certificate
Skills
* It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role. However, the Trust would consider making reasonable adjustments to the role, if necessary, to enable a disabled person to undertake the role.
