About The Service
You will earn £23,152 a year working full time (37 hours a week), or £12 per hour pro rata, as we are a Voluntary Living Wage employer. The Living Wage is reviewed each year and Cardiff Council reserves the right to make changes to, or remove, the Living Wage Supplement.
Our Major Projects Team is looking to employ a Corporate Trainee working as an agile worker with some work at home and some based at County Hall, Atlantic Wharf, CF10 4UW.
Major Projects Team lead on the delivery of regeneration and development projects that support the Council’s vision for the Capital’s regeneration and future development in line with the Wellbeing of Future Generations and the Council’s Greener, Fairer, Stronger City-Recovery and Renewal Strategy.
This role will involve working online from home and a mix of home and office (hybrid) working.
About the job
In this Corporate Trainee role, you will:
* Get involved in some of the most exciting regeneration projects and learn a range of project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Gain a significant understanding of the Political and Officer led decision-making processes for the Local Authority.
* Learn about programme and project management and how it is delivered in Cardiff Council.
* Carry out a range of tasks that support the projects and analysis work required to deliver major projects.
Some of the tasks include:
* Scheduling and attending meetings and taking notes.
* Updating records, databases and plans.
* Undertaking basic research and analysis.
* Developing project management documentation.
* Providing general project support.
This is an agile working position, so some tasks may be carried out at home or at other council locations.
The service team will help and encourage you to develop in the role and you will be encouraged to take on a variety of duties. You will receive supervision and on-the-job training and will have a named mentor to support you.
Working Week is Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
