About the role
The School of Engineering and Materials Science at Queen Mary University of London has a vacancy for a Digital Learning Technologist. The purpose of this role is to ensure that our staff and students receive excellent support in their use of digital technologies for learning, teaching and assessment. This post is responsible for driving and supporting digital learning innovation and development and the continued maintenance of core learning and support systems essential to the successful delivery and continuous improvement in the quality of our programmes.
About You
You will need to have authoritative knowledge of the key principles of technology-enhanced learning, experience of using virtual learning environments (Moodle expertise desirable) at administrator, designer, instructor and user levels. Experience delivering educational development and training in the effective use of learning technologies is required. You should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, be able to communicate sympathetically with staff and students of different backgrounds and knowledge of learning technology.
About the School of Engineering and Materials Science
This post is within the School of Engineering and Materials Science, a large School with 110 academics and a similar number of postdoctoral research staff. There are around 1500 undergraduate and taught postgraduate students and 220 PhD students. These are supported by an administrative and technical staff team of 45. The staff and student body are international in make-up.
Staff in the administration office work on campus a minimum of three days a week.
