We are looking for an experienced Underwriter to join our Regional Marine Cargo and Freight Liability team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with new business Underwriters to manage all renewal business across the UK. What Will You Do?
1. Support the overall profitability, growth and retention of the Line of Business and consistency of all related underwriting initiatives.
2. Underwrite on a day-to-day basis in accordance with limited authority to ensure a timely and professional service to clients.
3. Ensure that business is written in accordance with the Company's policies, procedures and controls (including audit requirements) at all times, and adheres to Lloyds Underwriting Management Standards.
4. Utilise appropriate systems to accurately enter quotes, risks and endorsements, ensuring correct management, statistical and regulatory reporting.
5. Promote Travelers Line of Business, distribution strategy and philosophy and provide guidance on the Company's underwriting philosophy, procedures and requirements by building strong partnerships with Agents, Brokers and Customers.
6. Gather data and prepare reports to support the professional execution of corporate/business underwriting policies/standards.
7. Act in accordance with Travelers Companies' Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, Business Excellence Policy and all HR policies and procedures.
8. Deliver high-quality service to brokers and customers in line with our service standards.
9. Comply with all legal, insurance, regulatory, Lloyd's and Sarbanes Oxley rules and guidelines.
10. Act at all times in compliance with the Treating Customers Fairly outcomes.
11. Work as a team with colleagues within the Company and the Enterprise.
12. Develop strong relationships with our key supporting brokers and customers and all other key external stakeholders.
13. Adhere to the Company's policies and procedures.
14. Keep adequate records of all transactions undertaken with brokers, customers, and all other parties.
15. Continually look for improvement from both a personal and business perspective.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
1. Degree preferred.
2. Previous experience working with Property and Casualty insurance preferred.
3. Previous underwriting experience preferred.
4. Able to effectively share information and build team support.
5. Able to communicate clearly.
6. Able to develop effective working relationships internally and externally.
7. Actively attempts to influence events to achieve goals.
8. Demonstrates ability to apply guidelines appropriately.
9. Able to adapt in a variety of situations.
10. Able to determine priorities and effectively schedule time.
11. Basic knowledge in respect of Relationship Management.
12. Expected to either already be studying, or be willing to study towards ACII qualification.
What is a Must Have?
1. Previous Property and Casualty insurance experience.
2. Previous experience of Windows MS Office.
3. Secondary level education or equivalent required.
