About the role: Activate Learning are looking for a Hairdressing Teacher to join our apprenticeships hairdressing team. We are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic and creative individual with the ability to inspire, so that our hairdressing apprentices have a memorable learning experience and receive high standards of delivery and assessment. With your strong knowledge of apprenticeship standards and requirements, you will work collaboratively with our apprenticeship assessor based in Oxford to ensure we plan and deliver purposeful practical and theory lessons and participate in the curriculum development to meet the needs of changing industry demands. While most of your work will be on our level 2 provision for now, this is an exciting opportunity to support with the growth and development of our level 3 provision, and help shape how we structure this going forwards. This is a permanent part-time role, working 15 hours per week. Mondays will be spent teaching at Reading College, and the remaining 7 hours can be divided flexibly throughout the week on workplace assessments and administrative tasks. What do you need to be successful as a Hairdressing Teacher at Activate Learning? We are looking for people who can act as role models for our students and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work. You must have a minimum Level 3 qualification in Hairdressing and an assessor's qualification, with recent experience and up-to-date knowledge of the hairdressing industry to develop the skills of the future generation. Ideally candidates will also be qualified as an IQA. You will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational, and interpersonal skills. You will demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students acting as a role model throughout. To support the development of our level 3 provision you should be innovative and keen to apply your knowledge.
