We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with evidence of working at senior level to join our dynamic and high performing multidisciplinary team.
We are a progressive service and deliver a personalised model of rehabilitation seamlessly across primary and secondary care. We are in the fortunate position to have access to our own gym venue in the community and a site in the acute trust.

Main duties of the job
This post requires a motivated and skilled clinician with a broad range of experience in patient assessment and exercise prescription.
The successful candidate will be joining an existing multi-disciplinary team of specialist nurses (including NMP), exercise physiologists, physiotherapists, exercise specialists, exercise assistants, dieticians, CVR practitioner counsellors, assistant practitioners, and administrators.
The successful candidate will provide robust clinical leadership, mentorship, supervision, and career development to the existing junior exercise team. This will be achieved through excellent communication skills, influencing, motivating, and inspiring the team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will work within the multidisciplinary team flexibly, to provide a high-quality service to CVD patients and their families/carers across Primary and Secondary care in Salford.
To lead in the development, co-ordination, and delivery of comprehensive scientifically based programmes of exercise within CVR with specific emphasis on exercise testing, prescription, and training in line with current guidelines.
Provides specialist exercise education and training to other staff and students on all aspects within the field of CVD.
Provides specialist exercise/CVD education and training to patients and their families/carers across Primary and Secondary care.
Undertakes research and leads clinical audit in own specialist area.
Accountable for own professional actions, not directly supervised.

Essential
* Current AHCS registration through the register of clinical physiologists (those with current open applications will be considered) or Current HCPC registration through membership of CSP.
Desirable
* Current membership of BACPR.
* Current membership of ACPICR.
Qualifications
Essential
* Degree in Physiotherapy or closely related discipline.
* Or Masters degree in clinical Exercise Physiology or closely related discipline.
* Or Equivalent portfolio of experience with evidence.
Desirable
* BACPR Level 4 Exercise Instructor qualification certification.
* ACSM certification.
* Bases Sport and Exercise Scientist Accreditation.
* Evidence of ongoing CPD qualifications recognised by CIMSPA and/or BACPR.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential
* Experience sufficient enough to satisfy the needs of the post.
* Experience of supervising staff leading structured and graded exercise programmes for people with cardiovascular and co-morbid conditions.
* Experience of planning and managing complex clinical caseloads.
* Experience of functional exercise testing and the subsequent development of complex programmes of care in a clinical environment with CVD and co-pathologies.
* Ability to supervise less experienced staff and students mentoring, signing off competency frameworks and appraisals.
* Knowledge of and can contribute to the provision of local strategies to reduce CVD and its clinical management using best practice/guidelines/current legislation.
* Demonstrates a clear vision of the role and service.
* Demonstrates excellent effective verbal and written communication/negotiation skills.
* Excellent time management skills ability to manage clinical caseloads with non-clinical priorities and be flexible to meet the needs of the service.
* Ability to lead and implement research, service evaluation, and audit.
* Computer and systems proficient.
* As travel is an essential part of the role, you must hold a valid UK driving license and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010) in line with service needs.
