About the Company: A leading modular construction specialist involved in the design, manufacture, and installation of modular units. Our client supports local authorities, developers, and architects on a range of projects, from standalone units like classrooms and pavilions to multi-unit housing developments.
Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our client’s team. This is a hybrid role, requiring an average of 8 days per month in the office. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate cost estimates, liaising with suppliers and subcontractors, and supporting project teams to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare accurate cost estimates and tenders for modular construction projects.
* Analyse drawings, specifications, and project documentation to assess requirements.
* Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve cost efficiencies.
* Work closely with project managers and design teams to optimise project costs.
* Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities within project budgets.
* Monitor and control project costs to ensure adherence to budget constraints.
* Prepare detailed cost reports and forecasts.
* Maintain accurate documentation and records for all estimating activities.
Requirements
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in estimating within the construction or manufacturing sector, preferably in modular construction.
* Ability to interpret architectural and technical drawings.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
* Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Full right to work in the UK.
