DMJ are delighted to be partnering with a well-known UK charity in their search for an experienced Governance Officer. Working closely with the Head of Governance & Compliance, this is an exciting opportunity to work in a varied role and to gain greater exposure to governance projects and Board & Committee work.
Main Responsibilities:
* Work with the Head of Governance & Compliance to ensure the smooth running of the Association’s governance framework, driving continuous development and improvement, ensuring it continues to meet the needs of the organisation.
* Provide an efficient and effective approach to the governance of Board and Committees, including managing a calendar of Board and Committee business and preparing and distributing a timetable for meeting preparation in line with business and best practice.
* Responsible for end-to-end secretariat support to the Board and Committees.
* Work with the Head of Governance & Compliance to manage the planning and running of the Annual General Meeting and Trustee elections.
* To develop and manage the processes of recruitment and induction for new Trustees and Non-Trustees, ensuring a high rate of retention and successful succession planning.
* Manage and implement specific projects and programmes of work resulting from governance effectiveness review recommendations.
* To lead on the development of the Association’s policy review schedule, including the management of progressing monitoring and reporting to the Governance Committee.
This role offers a salary of up to £41,000 (depending on candidate experience), and fantastic flexibility around home-based working, with in-person attendance required for Board and Committee meetings.
