Summary Join our client’s team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, where you’ll play a pivotal role in managing quality and technical aspects of mechanical engineering design within the water industry. About the Client Our client is an established engineering design consultancy, specializing in the UK rail and utilities industries. With a growing work bank, they are currently focused on delivering strategic water sector projects in collaboration with key industry partners. Roles/Responsibilities Deliver high-quality mechanical engineering design solutions that meet safety and quality standards. Produce design calculations and drawings for water industry projects. Lead and mentor junior designers, CAD technicians, and graduates. Oversee and review subcontractor M&E design teams. Collaborate with equipment suppliers and manufacturers. Prepare technical investigations, reports, and specifications. Ensure compliance with industry standards and company procedures. Manage design package changes and maintain thorough documentation. Estimate design package hours and manage project deliverables. Represent the company in meetings, design presentations, and client discussions. Qualifications 10 years of relevant design experience in the water industry. Extensive knowledge of hydraulic design. Awareness of electrical design and control systems. Degree or HND in a relevant engineering discipline. Proficiency in IT and engineering software. Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it). Knowledge of wastewater and clean water systems. Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and engineering drawing practices. Key Skills Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving ability. Excellent communication skills. Results-driven with the ability to lead and mentor a team. Adaptable and proactive in project management. Benefits Competitive salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum (depending on experience).
