The Opportunity
Our client currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Shipyard Marine Structural Engineer to work with a leading global EPC contractor on a key project, this resource will be integrated with the client, supporting on a global shipyard project.
This role has been deemed inside IR35
Location Brentford | 5 Days in office
Your duties and responsibilities will be
The position will initially focus on Shipyard Projects, which include various facilities such as Leisure, Commercial, and Naval sectors.
Experience in designing Shipyards is essential, particularly with Shiplifts and Quay wall structures, and a solid understanding of the construction techniques and temporary works involved in shipyard development.
Although the initial scope will be centered on Shipyards, the role will expand to cover different port facilities over time.
The ideal candidate will join a multidisciplinary project design team and will be responsible for providing technical expertise related to the design and execution of Marine structures.
The chosen candidate will contribute to projects at the Pre-FEED and optioneering stages, progressing through to the creation of detailed designs for construction.You will have the following qualifications & experience
Bachelors Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or higher.
Relevant experience in a Consulting based industry.
Chartered Status with ICE or IStructE preferred.
Demonstrated high level numerical, reporting and written communication skills (in particular written and spoken English).
Ability to build rapport with internal and external teams.The setting for the role The role is predominantly office based, with occasional trips to the project site. When visiting the site a full site and safety induction will be provided.
