As part of Corporate Communications, the events team organises a programme of internal and external corporate events, engaging our colleagues, customers and stakeholders in the work of DVSA.
This busy, deadline driven role is responsible for helping to plan, arrange and deliver a series of events throughout the year. Working closely with managers and colleagues across DVSA to ensure colleagues are available to attend internal events, help shape agendas and support presenters. Liaising with external suppliers to secure venues and arrange attendance at events.
To take ownership of a calendar of events, ensuring they are planned and timed throughout the year to best effect whilst also supporting the wider corporate communications team with the planning of forthcoming announcements as well as general administration, such as booking train tickets, hire cars and hotel accommodation, raising purchase orders and arranging couriers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Manage a calendar of events, ensuring that events are planned in line with other business activities and announcements.
* Keep the calendar up to date and share with internal colleagues and stakeholders.
* Research external events which meet business and communications objectives and establish deadlines and a plan for their delivery.
* Work with Senior Events Manager and Internal Communications to plan and support delivery of a programme of colleague events and with external communications and external affairs to support delivery of customer events and exhibitions/conferences.
* Work with venues or other suppliers to organise catering, AV, exhibition stand build and other activities required to successfully deliver our events.
* Provide on-site support on the day prior to and the day of the event, when required.
