Reporting into the Director of Operations, this role will be responsible for ensuring that the operational teams comply with all regulations and industry standards. The role requires a proactive individual who can assess, implement, and monitor internal processes and work collaboratively with the operational managers and other key stakeholders within the organisation to ensure that they are compliant, have adequate controls, and deliver good outcomes to our customers.
Main Activities & Responsibilities:
1. Review bulletins/newsletters from regulatory/industry bodies to identify any impact on operational teams and work with the relevant managers to implement any changes required to processes/controls/practices.
2. Translate compliance language and provide guidance to operational teams to ensure understanding of complex or regulatory information.
3. Assess knowledge gaps within the department and deliver targeted training sessions to enhance team understanding and performance.
4. Attend Compliance Monitoring review meetings alongside relevant operational manager and ensure that any actions discussed are carried out and any further recommendations are investigated and implemented where appropriate.
5. Coordinate internal and external audits ensuring that each business area provides requested samples by set deadlines, and be the liaison point where necessary with clients/auditors.
6. Review operational incidents to identify where controls are failing and carry out internal process reviews collaborating with operational managers to ensure controls are robust.
7. Prepare applications to join any industry bodies, ensuring that the operational teams meet the entry criteria and coordinate any external reviews to support applications.
8. Ensure that all operational policies and procedures are in place and reviewed when necessary by the relevant parties.
9. Manage any regulatory change from an operational perspective ensuring that the teams are ready for implementation.
10. Attend the Risk Committee meetings when appropriate and assist the operational teams with mitigation measures.
11. Prepare detailed reports for the SMT and board of directors on progress of actions from an operational risk, compliance monitoring, and change perspective.
12. Ensure all responsibilities are performed with a focus on Consumer Duty principles and actions contribute to delivering good outcomes for customers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Personality:
* A background in financial services operations is essential for this role coupled with experience of compliance processes and practices.
* Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentational) with the ability to collaborate with peers and other key stakeholders.
* Proficient in interpreting complex regulations and translating them into operational terms.
* Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to Consumer Duty and ethical standards.
Education, qualifications, and special training:
* Extensive experience in pensions administration industry essential.
* A qualification in pension administration is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of UK pensions legislation, compliance requirements, and Consumer Duty regulations.
Location & Hours:
Ideally this role will predominantly be based out of our Peterborough office, but we will consider candidates in the Nottingham area. Regular travel to both sites is required for this position.

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
Hybrid working is supported with a minimum of 2-3 days in the office once initial training period completed.
