Role Overview\n\nWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bids & Business Development Manager to support the growth of our architecture practice in London. This role is critical in driving new business opportunities through high-quality bid submissions, market research, and strategic client engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the architecture, construction, or built environment sector, with proven experience in bid coordination, tender submissions, and business development.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nBid Coordination & Management\n\n• Lead the coordination, preparation, and submission of bids, tenders, and PQQs (Pre-Qualification Questionnaires) for new business opportunities.\n\n• Work closely with directors and senior leadership to craft compelling, high-quality bid documents tailored to client and sector requirements.\n\n• Manage bid schedules, ensuring deadlines are met and submission documents align with brand and compliance standards.\n\n• Maintain and develop a bid library, including templates, case studies, CVs, and project sheets, to streamline future submissions.\n\n• Track and analyse bid success rates, providing insights for continuous improvement.\n\n• Support post-bid debriefs, gathering client feedback to refine and enhance future submissions.\n\nBusiness Development & Client Engagement\n\n• Research and identify new business opportunities, including tracking industry trends, competitor activity, and upcoming tenders.\n\n• Support the development of business development strategies to expand the firm's reach in key markets.\n\n• Research and create a CRM system, tracking client relationships, project leads, and tender opportunities.\n\n• Assist in coordinating and attending industry events, networking sessions, and client meetings to strengthen relationships and generate leads.\n\n• Work closely with sector leads to develop targeted strategies for specific market segments.\n\nMarketing & Brand Positioning\n\n• Develop and maintain high-quality bid and business development materials, ensuring consistency in messaging and branding.\n\n• Support the creation of sector-specific presentations, capability statements, and brochures.\n\n• Collaborate with internal teams to align business development efforts with broader marketing strategies.\n\n• Ensure all external communications reflect the firm’s expertise, sector leadership, and project successes.\n\nKey Skills and Experience\n\n• Proven experience in bid management, business development, or a related role within the architecture, construction, or built environment sector.\n\n• Strong understanding of procurement processes, frameworks, and bid requirements in the industry.\n\n• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.\n\n• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\n\n• Capability with InDesign and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for bid document production.\n\n• Strong research and analytical skills to identify new business opportunities.\n\n• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients and internal stakeholders.\n\nQualifications\n\n• A degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred.\n\n• APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) or equivalent bid management certification is an advantage.\n\nWhat We Offer\n\n• A supportive and creative work environment.\n\n• Opportunities for professional growth and career development.\n\n• Competitive salary and benefits package
