THE COMPANY Our client, a well-established business based in Stafford, is seeking an AAT Accounts Assistant for a permanent position. A recognised leader in their field, they are experiencing a period of growth and are looking to expand their team. THE ROLE This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable accountancy practice based in Stafford as an AAT Accounts Assistant. You will receive full training and support to prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and audit-exempt limited companies within a diverse client portfolio. Your responsibilities will include income and corporation tax computations, bookkeeping duties, VAT return preparation, and cash flow forecasting and projections. You will also engage directly with clients in face-to-face meetings and undertake other ad hoc duties as required within the team. REQUIREMENTS The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in a practice environment, strong accounting skills, and proficiency in recognised software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. A solid working knowledge of Sage is essential, while experience with QuickBooks and Xero would be an advantage. You should have a good understanding of income and corporation tax and be eager to contribute to a dynamic team, supporting its growth and success. A passion for delivering excellent client service is essential, along with strong communication skills, both written and face-to-face. Support will be provided, where appropriate, for continued professional development towards AAT, ACCA, or ACA qualifications.
