Senior Design & Project Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Design & Project Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering design and project management, with experience in coordinating all project elements including engineering design, quality, planning, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
The responsibilities of a Senior Design & Project Engineer:
* Primary contact for clients, involving them in contract execution and managing their expectations during contract fulfillment.
* Assist and support the Engineering Manager in delivering company projects from initial conception to final completion, ensuring projects are accurately completed to schedule.
* Support Design and Project Engineers on the delivery of their projects, becoming secondary contact for clients when necessary and ensuring contract fulfillment.
* Determine client and project specifications, objectives, schedule, and responsibilities by reviewing client documentation, identifying customer requirements, and conferring with the management team.
* Maintain financial diligence through budget and cost control to meet projected profitability targets and business results.
* Manage suppliers and contractors to maintain project schedule by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
* Evaluate systems and products by designing and conducting testing programs and studying customer requirements.
* Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
* Prepare data by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information for installation, testing, quality, packing, and weekly reports.
* Support sales with technical analysis of enquiries, evaluating major enquiries, preparing the technical offer, analyzing project specifications, and designing the technical solution.
Requirements
* Degree/HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
* Demonstrated leadership experience.
* Experience in a technical role involving project planning and cost control.
* Strong knowledge of CAD modelling and drawings with experience in design analysis. (Experience with Solidworks is a plus).
* Good understanding of manufacturing processes including machining and fabrication as a minimum.
* Must have excellent understanding of Quality, Environment, Health, and Safety Standards, with a focus on creating improvement standards based on root cause analysis.
