The post is suitable for a doctor with full GMC registration and an MRCP qualification or equivalent, and desirable experience in cancer treatment. It is required to have knowledge of management of oncological emergencies. The precise duties will vary according to the seniority and previous experience of the appointee.
Applicants are invited to apply immediately for a full-time Specialty Doctor post in Medical/Clinical Oncology based at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust.
Clinical Duties:
The post-holder's duties will be primarily at Northampton General Hospital, but it is a condition of all appointments that post-holders will be willing to work at Kettering General Hospital.
The post holder will perform the duties of a specialist registrar (ST3 and above) to the oncology team which is based at NGH. The oncology team treats patients with a number of tumour sites.
The post contains opportunities to participate in research, learn about intensive chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies for the treatment of cancer.
